Voted Chicago’s Best Tour and My Favorite!

Some of the photos I took for this video were taken on the Double Decker Bus Tour.

The first time I went on this tour was when my son Tommy was 6. He pleaded to go and I have been taking customers, friends and family ever since.

I love this tour and every time I take it, I learn something new about Chicago.

A few times I had a not-so-great tour guide but the company has upgraded their staff and is now hiring actors and comedians to fill the role.

The HOP ON HOP OFF Tour has been the gold standard for awhile now and I got a real treat Friday when I took the trip again. Not only did I get a great tour guide, he really knew the city and told funny stories and witty historical narratives. He actually rolled off the architecture statistics like he was one. I guessed wrong. Of course this guy knew his lines – he was an actor.

The trip is offered by the Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Company and operates daily through Jan 1 2011 excluding Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day. The tour length is approximately 2 hours – mine ran 2 ½. It departs from 15 Locations. The tours usually leaves every 10 minutes between 9am & 5 pm.

I boarded at Willis Tower to an empty bus and climbed on top to a prime seat with a friendly girl from Brazil. 3 stops later the tour was full.

The price of my tour – the standard was $29. Value: Priceless!

P.S. Love You Chicago...and these pictures remind me just how much!
